“For many Catholics the Bible remains a mystery. Our pastor, Father Bruce Powers, would like to help you understand the Word of God. It is the source for our understanding of the God who made the universe, and at the same time loves each of us personally. He will be offering a two hour per week chance for you to come to know this God of love. He will be teaching on Saturday afternoons from 1 PM-3 PM in the rectory meeting room. The introduction to the New Testament will begin Saturday, January 7, and continue for five weeks ending on February 4 2017. Please bring your own Bible. You can purchase a paperback version of the New American Bible - Catholic edition, online. They are about ten dollars each.
The donation for the course is twenty dollars. Please contact the rectory soon to register. The class will be limited to twenty-five students.”
Classes will be January 7, January 14, January 21, January 28, February 4
Friends, I'm happy to be leading a pilgrimage to Italy this April. It's not the usual stops that everyone makes in Italy, it's a bit different. I'm excited that one of our stops will be Positano where my great-grandparents came from and to celebrate Divine Mercy Sunday in what was their parish church. Another great spot with be the burial place of St. Padre Pio. And of course, Rome will be awesome, especially to see Pope Francis in person during an audience with him! Take a look at the pilgrimage and if you're interested message me or contact Peters Way directly at 516-605-1551.
